Good evening friends! It is late as I write this post. It’s after ten o’clock. I’m not normally up this late but I’m not feeling tired yet so I decided now is a good time to update the blog.

Writing & Camp NaNoWriMo 2019

We’re in the midst of Camp NaNoWriMo right now so I thought it might be fun to share some of the details about my project with you. I am writing a Christmas novel that I plan to self publish later this year. It’s a clean romance about a guy and a girl who meet and fall in love while they are snowbound in a hotel together.

But there’s a catch. Of course, right?

She’s a guest service associate at the hotel. He’s a guest, only in town until the snowstorm stops and public transportation is up and running again. Will they be able to admit their feelings for each other and find happiness despite their geographic challenges?

Ok, ok. I know that’s kind of brief. And it certainly sounds cliche. Haha. But I’m working on it. I will share a better synopsis later on. Right now I’m just worried about getting the words written down.

Speaking of getting the words written down, here’s a look at my NaNo stats as of tonight.

Some thoughts… My goal for the month is to write 50,000 words because if I’m going to challenge myself, I want to make it a hard challenge. Haha. And writing 50,000 words in a month is definitely hard.

The month started out slow. And continued to be slow. I’ve been struggling with feeling tired lately so it’s been hard to find the inspiration to write after work. But I scheduled a vacation day for Friday July 19th so that I could get some writing done.

I started doing word sprints in the morning while I drank my first cup of coffee and continued it throughout the day. I realized I was on a role and challenged myself to hit 5k during the day.

Then I did it again today because I’m feeling inspired and my story is progressing nicely. I’m feeling good. 10k in 2 days. I’m still pretty behind on my monthly goal but at this point I think I will be able to catch up!

Tomorrow is Sunday so I think I’m going to go to the gym early on before it gets too hot (the heat wave is excruciating right now) and then I’m going to make some brunch and try to write another 5k.

What is going on in my everyday life? Not all that much to be honest. I’m finally getting my house organized and I’m planning for some get togethers in August. I need to have my grandmothers down to visit and I’m planning a get together/dinner for some of my friends from my old job. My best friend is visiting at the end of the month as well so that’s awesome!

Most of my after-work time has been spent working on my creative business. I’ve been making more videos for my youtube channel because that’s a creative outlet that I really want to explore. I also have been planning out the next 6 months for my creative business as well.

And of course there’s been some TV time thrown in there. I’m currently watching Broad City on Hulu. Haha. Everybody needs something funny to watch in their downtime right?
